Another trip to the public library - my Saturday Adventure and 5 interesting CDs to listen to this week - 1 self titled the Vinyls a local rock and blues "Pub" band They really do sound much better live. I dont think Ill play this one much. 2 FAithless - Forever Faithless Its brilliant really enjoyable will have to buy this one for the collection. 3 Ultimate Dirty DAncing -- AAAH all that nostalgia, great songs, not well engineered etc but hey a good one for the car. 4 Nora Jones "Feels Like Home" I dont think that this is one of her best but a pretty good listen never the less. 5 Now this is a real find Cerys Matthews - several of the tracks are outstanding and can even sound a bit like Stina Nordenstan (on a good day) I am so looking forward to getting used to this album. Another that Ill probably try. - Cheers for the Public Library!! Letting you try before you buy.

CD this afternoon - Dave Weckl: Heads Up
Earlier this evening (vinyl) - Quincy Jones: The Dude

and at the moment, just for a laugh... Right Said Fred: Up. :D

Nope, but I often try to find out MOre about those artists mentioned here that I've not heard of.

has anyone heard of Bic Runga from New Zealand. currently listening to her latest offering Birds. tis very very nice!

Earlier - A cobweb blasting combination of:

Metallica - "black album"
Revolutionary Corps of Teenage Jesus - Daddy Died
Sons Of Otis - Templeball

Blue to the Bone

Its so cold at the moment, I decided to play "Blues To The Bone" - Etta james. It's one of my favourite sing a long albums - really kicks the blues - She is superb on this album. A sort of almost minimalist approach with electric and accoustic instruments - Her earthy delivery of these old songs is sheer brilliance. A must for a cold wet winter night

Rose Tattoo - 25 to Life

Rough live album, but these boys were rough in life. Storming rock'n'roll. RIP Pete Wells.

Joe Perry Project live from back in 1980. Touring his first album and playing a couple of Aerosmith songs and a few other covers. Great stuff. I love the Let The Music Do The Talking album.
