SalIf Keita Soro LP version Ex Production and great vocals
Ummagumma & Meddle - The Floyd in recognition of the Floyd night on Beeb 4, forgotten how really good these LPs really are & Half Breed by the Keef Hartley Band. Late 60s, early 70s listening night
Vinyl-tastic: PJ Harvey - Rid of Me Patti Smith - Horses ZZ Top - Eliminator D) Elton John - Yellow brick road (well, bits of it)
This morning, FLAC files via Squeezebox: Tiki - Past, Present, Future FC Kahuna - Machine Says Yes Timo Maas - Pictures Damian Marley - Welcome To Jamrock Buddy Guy - Damn Right I got The Blues
MAria Muldaur Naughty, Bawdy and Blue ---- Sweet lovin' Ol' Soul: Old Highway 62 Revisited ------- Richland Woman Blues --- Three excellent Cds for those interested in Blues. Arranged above in reverse order. I love the three of them too many great tracks to name all my favourites. Great music to chill out to
The Boomtown Rats (the first album) Shriekback - Oil & Gold Pink Floyd - Meddle Sting - Nothing Like the Sun ...yup its Charity Shop Vinyl!
Mystery Jets,Twenty one-Great songs, fab recordings, great mastering too, not much in the way of nasty compression unlike the Zutons latest which is so bad I thought it was an MP3 knockoff...
Toots and the Maytals 'Light your Light' Toots goes back to some of his earlier work and his R&B influences. A great, happy and to quote his friend Richard Feldman "Toots packs in more of his grooviness than on any of previous recordings" CD. Contains fab covers of Otis Reddings 'Pain in my heart' and Ray Charles' 'I gotta woman". Got my poor decrepit frame dancing round the house this morning Some new material here as well.
Dirty Pretty Things-Romance at short notice. Disappointed with the production & mastering but it's got some great songs on there
Nina Simone - Protest Anthology Robert Belfour - Pushin My Luck Dexter Gordon - The Panther Loudon Wainwright III - Strange Weirdos
Blue Nile - "A Walk Across The Rooftops", a superb bit of LINN vinyl. A real grower, bit harder to listen to than "Hats" but worth the journey. (Reference quality really, if you like the black stuff)
I'd hear the recording was pants... (not the music) hence the big petition to say re-master it plank spankers! Listening to Goodbye Mr Mackenzie _ Hammer and Tongs on vinyl!!. First in a field of one that group.
Was this a reply to death magnetic? If so, I'll give it another listen. Just please that they're spanking the plank as the plank should be spanked once more.
