lol great song.

well i think its something to do with the fact that I say which equipment I do and dont like and why. I have my own taste and my view is no more valid than any ones. Its also no less valid and that seems to annoy some people. If I dont like a piece of kit and someone else does - fair play to them. they made the right choice for them. tastes differ. my decision and taste in no way undermines theirs.

what is "hifiplush?"

Indeed they are the most dynamic amps I have ever heard. I am waiting for the more dynamic alternative to be revealed as a tube amp or something ;-)

Try something like a C.A.T JL2 or Jadis JA500's. That will give you an idea of real dynamics and reveal the shortcomings I allude to.

valves? I will keep an eye for them but I suspect they are hard to come accross. anything more common I have a chance of hearing?

Tony, much as I like the Jadis, the CAT does kick it's ass at only 25% of the nominal power output.

I can't recommend anything you might find at your local Studio outfitters no Bio, you need to visit some real hifi shops and listen to some top systems.

Odd, I much prefer the Jardis, the Cat I find some what cumbersome, but then I'm odd :D
I mean I find CJ/Krell/M/Levvy/Bat/Lamm/halcrow must unmuisc like.
THough as has been pointed out many, many, many, many, many times (files un zipping :D ) before, we all like different stuff for different reasons. T.

Not too sure if they were the 500's, are we taking the mono's now?, they were paired with a Oracle 2000 T & D and some rather nice if odd looking horns.
Clients system, most decent workmanship I might add. T

oh merlin dont be fecetious - i dont go to studio outfitters. What are walrus if not a proper hifi shop? isnt the CAT stocked by "sounds of music"? terrible shop.

I agree with sloppie about CJ/Krell/Levvy/Bat

Tony, I doubt they were JA500's. Teamed with a pair of horns, they might be a little overkill - not to mention their potential for destroying the speakers in double quick time.

oh god hate to think what they must be like from that mag - who is the mafia there?

From the forum's website:

'The owners of HiFiPlus.org would like to state that this discussion forum has absolutely no affiliation or business links with the magazine Hifi+ and its websites www.hifiplus.co.uk and www.hifiplus.com'

There is no mafia, it's all in your mind. Of course, I could be just trying to lull you into a false sense of security.

(PS: as any fule kno, it's the Masons rather than the Mafia who control all these hifi fora anyway).

Ah right easy to make mistake. Assumed it was a mag forum.

Yes you are lulling me ;)

You are feeling veeeery sleeeepy ......

Acksherly I assumed it was mag-related till I visited the site. Surely some breach of copyright must be involved?

I have a new pair of 7BSST running into some large PMC IB2. I've been listening an awful lot for the last couple of months. I am still amazed at their natural sound, extension, scale, fun etc. It's like a real live band in my lounge. I am 100% happy and doubt I'll ever want to change this combo. I suspect as these two products were designed specifically for each other their resulting sound is far better than would be achieved by random component partnering.

Happy listening & continued circular arguing. :D

There are some mega PMC's on ebay now, for a mere 13k. Looks like they were used in an awesome studio setup. As able as they must be, I really don't require any more volume, scale, extension, or anything else really. Perhaps if I had a sports hall sized listening area and no girlfriend to bend my ear, maybe. :MILD:
