Well, since the poll wasn't quorate (100 votes) as decided by me I'm free to impose my choice..... :D

Meant to do this over the w/e but forgot. Will do something tomorrow :)

Hmmmm...not sure if the spectrum logo looks right...maybe I'll get used to it...can't remember what I voted for now anyway...

Well, I put the one that got the most votes up. Resized it to something sensible. Will leave it for a while, see what people (and myself) think. Personally, I don't think it quite gels with the rest of the look but...well....let's see :)

yeah, I agree - just doesn't seem to blend it at all...

Well I'd offer to modify the background/tweak the logo to have it gel a bit better but unfortunately my PC is in Edinburgh and I'm in Cambridge (it was either the hifi or the PC :D). Personally I think the LCD logo would fit the colour scheme best (but then I'm biased aren't I :D).

Hmm it does stick out a bit...I'm on the blue colour scheme vBulletin 3 Style. I think it would look better with a bit of tweakery to include a bit more blue in the design.

If the background of the logo were changed from black to the dark brownish grey that appears an the top border of each post (the bit with the time posted) then it might blend a little better..?

I think the LCD logo or the minimalist (my choice) one would fit a lot better. Heavymental, that blue style is the vBulletin default (completely unmodified by me) so if you use that style, like it or lump it :D . I could have different logos for different styles but that's starting to sound like hard work :D .

Set the black background to transparent and center the image, that would look groovy.

Maybe put a thin black box round it, to keep the look.

It's a JPG at the moment which doesn't support transparency. I'll see if I can convert it to GIF and set the right transparent colour without the whole thing coming out looking nothing like it started (which often happens when I convert files to GIF for some reason).

It might be worth keeping it as a .jpg and just setting the background to the forum background (which I suspect is #E1E1E1), i.e. like this:

Logo_dB.jpg

(I have not compressed this so it is pretty big. I also upped the contrast a bit as the lettering got a bit lost.)

I think that with a bit of tweaking that logo could look really good once located in the right place on the site, perhaps some of the colours don't work as well as they did on the black background, but I think the idea is good.

Hmm, rats. I voted for spectrum and now I don't like it. Well, we'll see how the edit attempts pan out before I stop coming ;)

PeteH, California is great - I'm having an absolutely fabulous time. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
