Might be better if BL21DE3 does it from the original, I'm sure the background would be a layer.

    Oops i missed BL21DE3's post.

Well, I think it looks 10 x better than the original one.

I voted spectrum analyser, and I think its groovy.

The colours lose some of their contrast over the grey.

Perhaps the colours could be played with to be stronger against a grey background?

    Just a thought.

    NB
My main objection to LCD was that LCD's are from flippin CD players - ! I just dont mentally associate LCD's with music... more VCR's and DVD players and car radios and alarm clocks etc.

I was piddling about with it for the last few mins, including getting it centred. It now doesn't look bad at all in the "ZeroGain vBulletin 3 Grey Style" and it's acceptable in the default (blue) vB3 style but it looks a bit pants in the vBulletin Classic style but then I'm not really fussed about anyone who uses that style. Quite tempted to get rid of it actually.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, please leave the classic style - it's great for widescreen monitors as i can see everything on one screen whereas with the others i can't.
as for the logo - i didn't vote for it - so it's crap and always will be. ;)
    cheers

I like it again. Hallejulah, I'm happy - and after all, isn't keeping me happy what the whole world strives for?

To me the "spectrum" part of of the logo looks like a big collections of coins or gambling chips (??, not sure what they called) like in a casino. I'm afraid I don't like it :(.

I've gone off it again. I don't think any of the alternatives are any good either. There was one I liked in the original thread, but I can't remember which one it was now.

How about not having a logo at all?

As the old saying goes - "if it ain't broke, then don't fix it". But if you are going to 'fix it', then make it funky (or funkier). The new logo looks like one big jumbled-up mess. It is an eyesore, in my opinion. Btw, what was wrong with the old one?

    Enjoy the music,

Well, the old logo was just something I cobbled together in 5 minutes to get the site up so it was perhaps time for a change. I can see how the spectrum looks like gambling chips, it would be better if it was moving (as it was in the original .GIF) but an animated GIF would be far too big.

I'm going to leave it for a few more days and then maybe try some alternatives, including maybe reverting to the original one.

    Michael.
