As soon as you measure anything, you alter the parameter's value.

This is why the only pure form of science is mathematics. The rest of science is just conjecture by comparison with maths. This doesn't mean that it's wrong, just that it can never be proven right.

    Straying into philosophy.

Thanks for that Antonio, what a source of knowledge you are turning out to be ;)

Would you mind if I passed your wisdom onto Proac, ATC, JBL and Tannoy who are still in their ignorance using silly, slow drivers in some of their more expensive speakers.

    another particularly pertinent one...
A great source of error is the judging of events by abstract calculations, which though geometrically true are false as they relate to the concerns of beings governed more by passions and prejudice than by an enlightened sense of their interests. - Alexander Hamilton

and yes merlin it's just another guys opinion....
    cheers

"The Densen is better than the Naim" - Alex S.

"The WT is better than the LP12" - Alex S.

"Hutter is better than Mana" - Alex S.

Just some geezer's opinions, no more or less valid than anyone else's.

Titian may have high standards, who is to say that he has achieved them? He does seem to have spent a lot of money on the way, which is always pleasing to see. A bit of dedication to the cause goes a long way.

Yes Titian has spent a lot of money on the way.
    He wished he didn't buy:
    • those bloody over priced McIntosh which nobody who is interested in concert hall sound would ever buy. Maybe I bought them because I got them very cheap but it doesn't help. That's waist of money.
    • those bloody cables which anyway a few years later he changed (if only he bought the best in first place).
    • those bloody Soundstyle racks which he changed years later (if only he bought the best in first place).
    • so many of those bloody Walker resonance control system which he needs less after buying the Pagode Racks (if only he bought those racks in first place).

Yes, titian hopes that if he lives another time and if he will have the same goals, there would be someone who could convince him not to play around with stuff and get the 'best' in the first place.

To have the "best" in a purely subjective arena is surely a somewhat unattainable goal unless by best you mean for you personally - in which case it is unwise to use the term on a public forum

Yes that is true: there is no such thing as the best. I would like to change 'the best' into 'not such a crap' / bulls**t of a component'. :D
