On a twisty pice of road I could stay ahead of you in my car, ps the road has to be very twisty

ps on sweeping tracks bikes beat cars,on twisty tracks even an R1 will not beat a Caterham unless there is a long straight

I am up for it, but it has to be during rush hour... :MILD:

Now how to paraphrase this and quote at the same time,.......Mmmmm,........next time try using a better lubricant?

How could I see his eyes if I was doing that, unless he had rear view mirrors...

If your friends on an R1 could not keep up, he is a wanker rider plain and simple, you should not base your experience of race bikes on a friend who can not ride properly.

It goes like this, one of the owners of the Portuguese HD dealership, my friend, used to be superbike champion of Portugal, (so most of his friends are or where on that business), now he rides an Harley Electra Glide, much better than me I must add, but mine where lighter to partly compensate, and every year, up to selling my bike, we would go to Jerez with his friends on race type bikes, you see, a moto GP is not a normal HOG hangout...

We had great fun showing his friends how wrong they where abouty Harleys going... :MILD:

See, if you are friendly to me I am also friendly, if you are aggressive, get your helmet ready... ;)

Antonio
Are you suffering from dementia?

Once and for all
I lay the gauntlet

Come to the UK
Hire a bike (must be a hardley, i can tell you where to hire one in UK)
race me
loser pays expenses
Your call
put up or shut up old man!

best check the history of the ZXR750 Antonio ;)

Actually one day my friend and I got "tangled" with a couple of those, we passed them on our usual sunday morning climb to Cabo da Roca, one of them almost crashed...

This doesnt mean you couldnt do much better, as I said more experienced riders did beat or keep up with us, even on worst bikes... ;)

OK, send me the list, including the mods they have done, so I can find one equivalent to mine... :MILD:

All right Antonio, tell you what.

I WILL PAY for you to fly over here and hire a Harley of your choice. You can pick the twisty hill, and I am sure Mr P would be happy to take you on.

If you should win, then you have had a free weekend in a great country and had the chance to listen to some proper hifi. If you lose, you pay me back.

Simple and open on the forum. What do you say, yes or no?

Thanks Merlin, if I want to go to there I can afford the tickets, dont know about accomodation though... ;)

I don't know anything about bikes, but a friend of mine who rides and knows a lot about this sort of thing tells me that Harleys are toys and the people who ride them are clueless poseurs.

I hope somebody finds this information helpful.

this is getting far too serious for this thread.
in the spirit of things - which one would kick which ones arse on a lap of silverstone? a sinclair c5 or a segway?
my money's on the racy c5, the segway is just american wannabe junk - like some other things mentioned recently.
cheers

How would you know...

I have owned both Koni shocks and supertrap exhausts on previous bikes, both offer no performance over standard parts, they are just direct replacement not inteneded to improve.
I ask you, WTF do you know?
