Here are the latest changes as well as some pictures:
- Using the Aesthetix Callisto instead of the modified Sonic Frontiers SF-1 preamplifier
- using selected NOS tubes in my amplifiers, Callisto and Tube DAC.
- Using Krell FPB 700 cx instead of the FPB 300c for my subwoofers
- slight change of the positioning of the ricght channel speakers
- use of basotec on a portion of the right wall
- several tweeks concerning resonances
- change of the cable for the subwoofer, the digital cable and IC between DAC and preamplifier.
- added projector (JVC) and screen (Steward) last june

Kit update - to help the old Pioneer celebrate its 35th birthday (it's stamped 'March 1974' on the underside of the bearing housing) I felt it should be treated to a bit of hifi nostalgia...
Best thing is that it sounds as good as it looks, and is getting better by the hour as it runs in.
Isn't that the very same Pioneer and SPU combo that RD thinks is God's gift to LP playback? In fact, has he also got an SPU or is it yours he is applauding so vigorously?

well here we are at the latest incarnation of my system. One that will likely stay for a while, as I'm quite happy with the outcome.

Hello everyone, this is my current set up
Cyrus CD-Xt -> DacXP + PSX-R -> 2x Smartpower Mono -> Dyn S3.4
Most of the Cyrus is probably going to be changed in the coming few days hopefully for something with a bit more grunt and conviction behind it.

It's the same (or similar) combo as RD's although I got my SPU first
I managed to get my PL71 after a very kind tip-off from Jerry who spied this one on ePay. I do often wonder if he sometimes regrets telling me though. Valve amps? Well after trying another (admittedly very good) one I'm still not convinced so it's up for sale.
