Yeah but Bub, I doubt your speakers are used in studios at anything near that height. I also doubt the manufacturer's recommendations would be anything like have them that high. If they are so far off-axis then you are not really hearing them as they are intended to be heard.

Don't let it worry you, Voodoo. The Mana effect more than compensates for any 'off axis' nonsense. I don't expect you to understand this, nor to take my word for it. My speakers sound the same whether I'm standing, sitting or lying down on the sofa.

    Steve,

I must agree with Julian, the soundstage was huge and deep, wide enough for Bub's mouth, and it had a wrap over effect, much like a peeked motor cycle helmet, for female vocals, jazz, classical it was enticing (if you like that pap) and granios, but not the best staging I've heard.

You really are upset, aren't you, Tony?

Very interesting. Was it something I said?

    James,

Sadly not, I'm trying to introduce some non standard parts into a wadia, and not having much luck, your babblings are proving a source of much merriment in the office today, so please do continue of muppet master of ferrious cultism, BTW are you going to swop all your towers of iron for the new and improved MK2?

If you mean the s/s spikes, then yes. Plus an extra one for you.

have you heard them with the new spikes you may not like them, and afdter changing some 130 or so spikes it would be a pain to replace all the others again.

Only 12, for the CDP, TT and preamp.

Might do the outboard power supplies later, perhaps.

Doing every stage with stainless steel spikes might be a bit expensive!

When has that stopped you, you must have spent thousands already, do some speaker meetings or get some patients for a private practice, should give you enough cash for titanium never mind ss :)

Most of my gear is second-hand, I've not spent as much as you might imagine. Plus replacing all the spikes would be soul-destroying. When the new stuff comes, that would be 220 spikes in all!

You could make a bed of nails with all the old ones, lying on that will stop the airborne vibrations from travelling through your body and back up through the **** :)
