I was about to write a reply disagreeing with you until I read Pulp and Blur.

I think with the mid 90's its very much a generational thing, I was at school when Pulp was really big and that will always add to the appeal for me. I am not sure if I would britpop as much if I didn't have the emotional attachments to it though.

Also it has to be better than the other crap that was around at the time.

Can't believe I've read through all this and no ones mentioned REM. A few good tunes but listening to a whole album is a painful test of self restraint. How are they so big? Is the Dad market that important?!

Chris...I'll give you a fiver for the Amy Winehouse album!

After Gabriel they were just another pop band, Gabriel is the man, he is crackers though, but a bloody genius all the same, how they had the imagination to write the lab lies down on broadway, i'll never know, I know it was drugs, but it must have been some stash.

Could never get the beatles tbh, or this coldplay manics, muse etc, grugy spangly agnst wridden drivel written so students will buy it coz they belive they are individuals and no-one understands them, pure drivel, and modern R'N'B missy eliot and all that shite inc rap and modern hip hop.

The Smiths - absolute garbage IMO.

    Boyz 2 Men :D

    Cream

    String Quartets in general.

Oh and all those Scottish indie bands with twee melodies that remind me of Joe Pasquale after two months.

:yikes: You'll be telling me you don't like the Beatles either next.

You'll not be buying any Belle and Sebastian albums then :)

Never trust a person who doesn't like Woody Allen movies and never, ever trust a person who doesn't like the Smiths.

I think the Smiths are funny ... unlike Woody Allen (or at least anything he's done in the last 30 years)

I like Woody Allen a lot (especially Love And Death, which is one of my favourite films ever), and I think the Smiths' first LP is quite good, but I can leave the rest of their records. Can I be trusted? :)
