Tell me about it HenryT, about the only tradesman I can get to turn up on time is Andy (plumber) and he's dam good too. As for our sparky less said the better, ya good work but getting hold of the bugger is a nightmare.

Arr ya I forgot about the harth, hum, could hire a JCB :) its probably just glued to the floor which means I'll make a mess when its lifted. This isn't going to be a easy 5 min job, there will be a lot of "making good" work to do, hum, it maybe an idea to give my builder a call, he'll be able to get this out for you and fix up the mess too, if your interested I'll give you his number.

Our house is more complex still, the concrete out the back and suspended at the front, WTF that's about I'll never know.
The answer to your question is cost, a suspended floor is cheap, quick and easy to install, concrete takes time, more expensive so not often used, but suspened floor SUCK!

Its quite common for people to chip in on other peoples posts mike ... this is a forum not a private meeting ;-)

I have heard the modern full spec lingo. Doesnt really tackle any of the issues that date back to the original product IMHO.

exactley we are all free to say what we want. to whoever.

again if a 5 grand, 8 year old spec lp12 can't out perform a rega3 then the latest spec one must be something special.

One thing (about the ONLY thing) in favour of my sister's AWFUL then-Ideal house (circa 1996) is that it has a concrete ground floor; everything else about that house is crap, from the wiring to the low quality shoddy windows.

As for "old" houses having concrete floors, our place doesn't!

It's simple enough to fake an online identity. Similarly, I doubt whether BBV is actually the same person who pops up if you google BBV.
