Show us Your Kit!

Monotone, system looks great but can I presume to make a suggestion, based on recent experience? Ditch the X-LPS. IMO you're letting down a most excellent deck and cart with the MF phono stage. Try the Graham Slee Gram Amp 2 - 125 quid and much better than the MF in pretty much every way (unless you really like a particularly recessed sound). Stick the MF on eBay and you'll probably get 100 quid for it so the Graham Slee will cost you peanuts! :)

Dunc

Thanks Dunc

Would keep that in mind! Am just enjoying the music at the moment... taking a break from the costly upgrades :(

If you're interested, I could bring my phono stage around for your to try as well as the DAC? Not that I'd in any way try to encourage you to spend!

Regards,

Stuart.

a great deal of fun and frolics were had building it, but the end result is very satisfying and the sound is stunning,
I am running it with 6n1p valves at the moment, but I have some 5842 to fit at some time,

Just got back from uni so all my kit is now in a loft room, living at home makes this the only real choice as my parents won't let me re-arrange the living room just for the hifi.

allright, time for a small update...

Here are a few snapshots I made today, of my new Rogers Studio-3's on the MusicTool stands, I received this weekend

The Rogers are the latest version of the Studio-3.
(unfortunately also the ugliest, and there is no pic/info to be found on the internet)
The Rogers were offered to me by a friend, for a small price.

The stands are the (LS3/5a) dedicated stands from an Italian brand called MusicTools, which were delivered to me 2 days ago.

Because of the fact that it's a sealed box, I no longer suffer from this fat, flabby bass that I experience with practically all bass-reflex speakers in my room.

The mids and treble of the little Rogers is amazing, imho.

So, my system is now:

Naim Nait-2
Naim CDX
Rogers Studio-3 on MusicTools (dedicated for LS3/5a) stands

Alco,

why do you have records when you don't have a turntable ?
Hi Markus,

They're left overs.
(I have about 75LP's left)

Maybe I'll buy a decent turntable in the near future.

Thanks Paul,

The light oak cabinet you've shown looks rather good too!

Btw, I just made a few new snaphots this afternoon of my Rogers Studio-3's.

This time without the grills in place:

Gret shots. There's no reason for high end has to resemble a breakers yard of steel and loose cable.

I like the use of black granite for the stands too. A touch classier than concrete paving slabs. Did you go to a kitchen or floor supplier? I presume they cut it to size for you as well.

The black marble slabs were indeed custom made.
I went to a .... (bummer, don't know the English word for it)
(Dutch word is 'steenhouwerij')

They're specialized in marble/granite and do mostly custom made orders.
