This thread is about atc bub - stay on topic. Yes any tom dick or consultant can post here. Its all opinion and yours is no better than mine. My opinion flys in the fact of those that think marketing, reviews, othodoxy and recommendations determine a products value.

Tony - what speakers are you using these days?

It's not only my opinion - that's the whole point. Leading lights in the recording industry rely on ATC - their reputations for producing good recordings depend on them.

I've never attacked PMC, but people who have heard them turn their noses up at the exaggerated bass from the transmission line. Probably impressive over a short demo, but this is exactly why you need to live with speakers for a while - to get a handle on what they can do. You are currently handle-less, hence the erroneous beliefs you have.

    Bub,

You have poo-pooed them constantly on the basis of a few malcontents opinions. They only have exaggereated bass if you stick them near walls. They need to be in free space.

Yes for doing the job of "recording" not "listening".

Go and listen to other options. The "crowd" argument doesnt wash with me - sorry. I have heard atc many times and I cannot take home every set of speakers - all of which could employ the same argument.

    Nick.

I played with a koala. Shark tastes good too. Like cod with a bit more character.

The only thing I liked about shark is they leave the skin on to give it a bit of contrasting texture. Suprisingly rough isn't it - like a cat's tongue, or an ATC treble.

"It's" not snivelling, it's just pointing the unwashed toward the truth.

You just need a thread for those who want the last word (or maybe a whole forum to yourselves).

But you two just can't leave it alone.

Bet that one of you posts after reading this!!!
