Diana Krall - Live in Paris Queen - A Kind of Magic Ozric Tenticles - The Hidden Step
On an electronica theme, Frog Pocket (here as well) and Christ are worth a listen. I have a few of the Frog Pocket albums, Moon Mountain Of The Fords and Gonglot are good. Hopefully Gonglot will garner more interest in John's work. Likewise, I have the Pylonesque ep and Metamorphic Reproduction Miracle album, which are similarly good. Nice indie labels as well!
Just picked up a copy of the Metallica ltd vinyl boxset - I've been working my way through it, re-living my teenage years as a leather jacket wearing, long-haired mosher. Rock on!!
Kate Bush - Never for Ever Kate Bush - Hounds of Love The Notting Hillbillies - Missing....Presumed having a good time
Somethin' Else - Cannoball Adderley and Miles Davis on vinyl Beautiful '50's recording and performance
Kate Bush - Never for Ever Tina Turner - Private Dancer Mark Knopfler - Sailing to Philedelphia Mark Knopfler - Shangri-La Mark Knopfler - Golden Heart
Porcupine Tree - Warszawa Following Friday's excellent Academy gig, I have been playing a few of their older albums, although this is a recent live set.
Tonight, cos the G/f was out Three friends - Gentle Giant Pink Floyd - Wish you were here Debussy - La Mer and Nocturnes (just love nuages) Strauss - Four Last songs. Always blows me away this one.
1/2 day off with little to do, so played some tunes; 2nd Free album on extended CD just delivered, cool +cool, nearly followed by best of Rainbow, also newly recd. But intersperced with the Beatles white album, also recently delivered. Fantastic but, just realised why I didnt like the WA the 1st time round :JPS: I'm probably just a (sp) philastine Cheers, Bri.
Paul McCartney - All the Very Best Picked this up today for £6. Some good tracks on there - and there's a lot more that I recognised than I thought. Even has 'We All Stand Together' - haven't heard that for ages and I remembe it as a kid - I think it was on one of the Rupert episodes. Quite listenable actually - the music itself not bad. I shudder to think what it would sound like if there was a Crazy Frog version of it though...
Been a mixture of stuff today: Diana Krall - When I look in your eyes Diana Krall - The Look of Love Donald Fagan - The Nghtfly Julio Iglesias - Crazy
Don Caballero - For Respect / American Don. Pretty hard to imagine the same band playing these two. Both recorded by Albini. Stereolab - Cobra and Phases / First Of The Microbe Hunters (except the latter seems to have a shocking amount of surface noise despite being brand new) Hood - Outside Closer
currently - the waitresses (best of) purely for 'christmas wrapping' gonna play fairy tale of new york next cheers julian.
Kate Bush - Aerial - I got this for Christmas, but didn't really have a chance to get a good listen. Back home and I'm very impressed with this - first rate production and some great tracks!
