Eupen Power Cords

Julian,

Don't give up just yet mate. I'm quite happy to stand up and say what I think. If someone else doesn't agree with me, well it's their cash and not mine.

Still, doesn't usually help me on the Naim forums either...

BTW, did you give anymore thought to selling the 82?
I did get my dem of one recently against a 202. Pretty easy decision really, 82 all the way. Just waiting for some cash availability now.
Being fair, I also WANT a projector after a recent dem, and that's likely to take precedence.

Cheers

Mike

Mine sound more the same because mine are the same, yours are actually different from themselves, and not as good either, obviously.

You all a load of geratric shoe makers, you all know in your heart of hearts, that solar powered dimolsisfiers are the way to go shame on you lot (I blame sideshow, that weird and whack so called music he secretly lent people has fried their minds ) :music:

That reminds me, did you listen to those CDs I donated to you at Bristol? Or are you self-frying? :D

Why is it that some people have to call liars to others that hear or see different, good thing the inquisition is over, or I would keep my mouth shut tight... :JPS:

And I agree that it is rude when you giving asked advice, someone always comes up with tease, even insults...

michael,
what i'm saying is that in the past when someone came up with a tweak there was a lot of pro and con discussion about if it worked and also what the mechanism might be. nowadays there seems to be a blanket denial of anything slightly 'fringe' or tweaky.
when zg was set up it seemed like an ideal place for subjectivist refugees of the hfc forum, today it seems less so. that's all.
cheers

Maybe people are a bit more savvy these days. They have been fleeced once too often, that is why they are more sceptical.

Dont forget there is a lot more people in the world who have the technical knowledge to debunk a lot of the nonesense that 15 years ago would have been accepted as fact.
A more knowledgeable population is only a good thing

One could argue that is why we have such excellent audio equipment at reasonable prices these days.

£1000 worth of kit bought these days is a lot better than £1000 worth of kit 15 years ago. Even though £1000 was worth more relatively 15 years ago,

But remember too, Julian, that there are those of us who have tried things and found them wanting:

so my subjective opinion that zg is no longer as fun as it once was and that the reason for this is rampant objectivism is wrong eh? ho hum....
someone once said (i forget who) that the biggest problem in the world was the growth of cynicism (or however you spell it). i'd agree with this.

Without wishing to appear rude Stebbo, ABSOLUTE SH$ITE

Are you really trying to tell me that an Arcam amp is better than a Krell KSA50. Or that some plasticy Mission 782's better than Spendor SP1?

If anything, the population is less knowledgable IMO, far less concerned with quality, more obsessed with convenience and percieved value.

I too am tired of the naysayers constant and repetative mocking of anyone asking an interesting question. The fact that one of them posted the above and another cannot tell the difference between a crap CD player and an LP12, suggests they are possibly younger than their demeanors may suggest.

I would suggest two forums, one for lovers of high fidelity, and the other for music listeners. That way, those of us interested in quality sound reproduction won't get bothered by the deaf.
