Last 5 records you bought??

New Order - Power, Curruption and Lies
Blondie - Eat to the Beat (was £1 on 12")

I need to buy some more records, I'm running out!

Quote : Everyone should have a Bert Weedon Greatest Hits album I reckon. What's not to like?
The cover for a start - its revolting bright red and orange "Warwick presents Bert Weedons 22 Golden Guitar Greats" with Guitar boogie Shuffle, Kon Tiki, Wipe Out and many more ...and theres even some good backing musicians on there like Rex Morris on the Tenor Saxophone.
If you can get past the cover you're in for a real treat.

Zep, Ellington and Maniacs - now theres a good broad choice, I can't say I've encountered Fiona Apple yet. Is she heavy rock or jazz ?

Fiona Apple's just... great... .

Get her first album, Tidal. Seriously good stuff. She's yet another female singer/songwriter with a piano, so might get overlooked, but she's not like the others. She's much cooler. :)

And oooohhh so sexy. :JPS:

Excellent choices... did you pick up the original issues or the remasters with bonus tracks? If the remasters, how well done are they?

I saw RT last weekend in London and he was superb. Easily one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Roll on next time!

I bought the remasters, in my opinion they are very well done and the bonus live tracks are superb. Night Comes In is over 13 minutes long and I'm loving every second. By the way, I'm seeing him in Derby in a couple of weeks, did he play Vincent Black Lightning? :D

Bought a few things today: Morrissey's new one (not bad); Pietra Montecorvino (anyone else see her on Later last night and think she was great?); 3 more John Zorn albums; the new Fennesz album, Venice; Fennesz Live in Japan; and, on vinyl, Steve Lacy Plays Monk (from 1969, on BYG, his first ever Paris recording).

Amon Tobin - Out From Out Where

Wagon Christ - Musipal

The Charlatans - Up At The Lake

Just clicked 'buy' on a couple of pieces of vinyl and am now awaiting delivery of....:

Probot - self titled album by Dave Grohl (foo fighters, nirvana) where he collaborates with lots of (to me) ace metal vocalists, on tracks he's written with the specific singer in mind. Said vocalists include: Cronos (Venom), Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Sepultura), Lemmy (Motorhead), Mike Dean (Corrosion of Conformity), Kurt Brecht (DRI), Lee Dorrian (Cathedral, Napalm Death), Wino (St. Vitus, Obsessed, Spirit Caravan, Place of Skulls), Tom G. Warrior(Celtic Frost /Apollyon Sun), Snake (Voivod), Eric Wagner (Trouble), King Diamond (Mercyful Fate). Can't wait to hear the Snake and Tom Warrior tracks. Uhh....Hheeyyyyy!

and

Death Angel - 'The Art of Dying'. Bay Area thrashers return with their first new studio album since 1990's 'Act III'. It's like I'm 15 again!

Also picked up a few vinyl albums over the weekend:

Led Zeppelin IV on lilac coloured vinyl. The stairway to heaven is purple. Nuff said.
Donovan - 'Sunshine Superman'. Original mono version, so hopefully it'll be worth something when I've played it and realise that it's shite.
Jefferson Airplane - 'The worst of....' lp. Strangely, this isn't a best of Jefferson Starship album.
