Very good indeed. Some tracks are a bit lo-fi like his older stuff, some are pretty blur-like and some of its just great pop punk with a definite Billy Childish influence sneaking in in many places - distorting tube mikes included.

Top stuff - gig should be a good one, then, and I'm looking forward to it. Quite a busy gig schedule (at least for Norwich) over the next couple of weeks - first I've got Mr Coxon, then we've got Kathryn Williams doing an acoustic set, and last (but by no means....) I'm going to see W.A.S.P.. Should make for an interesting few nights.....

Looks like we'll both be seeing 'has beens' in tights, then.

Mine will have the added advantage of an exploding cod-piece. ;)

:D Just make sure you aren't in the line of fire.

PS. Do you think MOzza will come on and pretend to be Lee Hazelwood? Not sure he could hit those low notes mind

Ben Reel Band - Sweet Victory
Mellow blues/rock - just good playing and a nice organic/annalogue feel to it even on CD

Ah - the good old EMI "flat as a pancake and no groove" version - you should definitely track down the RCA original 1983 CD pressing - it's FAR better sounding - unbelievably enough! Even my 8track cartridge copy is better than the EMI remaster (believe it or not) - I had the EMI remaster for 4 hours before taking it back and moaning!

I'm trying to think what my last 5 purchases were! The last was definitely:
    Blue Album - Orbital (vinyl)

I also picked up (on vinyl):
a Mega City 4 album from 1992 (red cover - can't remember the name)
a Fields of the nephalim (sp?) album from 1987
    something else
All from the charity shop - but I'm *%£&d if I can remember what they are - still recovering from Glastonbury!

    My CD purchases definitely included:
    Get born - Jet
Who killed the Zutons? - the Zutons (twice - one for me and one for a mate's birthday pressie)

i have a old copy of "hunky dory" too. i bought that proabably around 1991, so i doubt its the '83 pressing.... haven't spent enough time comparing to decide which i like better at the moment. the old copy i have is a US copy, and i don't think was all that to start with.

i have some fields of the nephilim stuff (on cd) too, but haven't had it out of storage for a couple of years now...
