Couple that with engine technology over 40 years old (2 valve iron heads, push rods on most, single carb, shimmed gear boxes etc..)
That's what we like to see. Good honest reliable technology. Very little to go wrong. Still purring sweetly after 200,000 miles :D

I wish I had a pound for each willy-waving wonder toy I've seen stranded at the roadside, it's engine internals having been subtley rearranged into a thousand new pieces that weren't there when it was built

Actually that's a fairly accurate description of what happened to my last bike :shame:

My bf has one - an Aprilia RDS950 something or other. Apparently it can do 180mph. It can practically break every speed limit in this country without leaving first gear. FFS why??? It can only be a most extreme form of willy waving :o

I shall know better this time around. I shall be getting a proper motorcycle like Antonio's

Um, Antonio we are talking about motorbikes, y'know the things with 2 wheels. But then you've never owned a proper one so i doubt you have a clue.

WTF has valve amps and TT's got to do with engine technology, get a grip man.

Antonio's getting confused with temperamental but good and just plain old and agricultural.
Tubes, turntables and ESL's can compete with the best of todays products. Hardley's can't

You vary your standards depending on the argument, some times old technology is good, others it isnt, make up your mind, better yet, use your own mind...

Antonio
i think your pills have stopped working, i know at your age the memory plays tricks, but do try to keep up.
That was a car, similar to a hardley in weight, but you can tell by the number of wheels and the steering mechanism that they are different.

With regards to the car, it may be old but at least it was built to do the job intended.

Antonio, it is you who changes to suit your loseing argument. How can you compare crap yanky engineering to a TT or thermeonic valves. You cant win so you start throwing in random un-educated stuff.

Most excellent Amigo's, this drivel has proceeded for far too long, can't we get back to abusing something more interesting, like does Angelina Jolie wear any knickers ? or possibly how bad M/f sounds with a rel sub

Oh Antonio I do. Records sound as good as CD's and lots of the classical music I listen to can only be heard on vinyl, therefore vinyl is good.
Tubes sound equally as good as transistors, in some ways better. Therefore they're still valid
ESL's are one of the most natural if not the most natural loudspeaker I've ever heard. Guess what still valid.

So that leaves us with your two wheeled tractor. Is there one aspect of it that can't be bettered by a Japanese bike? No...... Then it will be archaic won't it.

Have you ever considered a Reliant Robin. That uses the engine out of the Austin 7. Similair design, pushrods, 2 valves per cylinder....

It's your colour as well
