It is very easy to be narrowminded and shortsighted, sitting cozy in the middle of your akin, as you lot are...

I am not speculating about future or possible events, but stating facts that happened very often with me and my friends, you are happy with your toy bikes, good for you, you dont believe there is a world behond your backyard, sad, but your choice...

My bf has one - an Aprilia RDS950 something or other. Apparently it can do 180mph. It can practically break every speed limit in this country without leaving first gear. FFS why??? It can only be a most extreme form of willy waving

So , Chris , your bf is into extreme willy waving
good thing or bad thing?
discuss :D

Where and when? There's only one way to end this thread: a mountain road bike race pitching the Harley riding Antonio against penance and merlin riding street racers!

If we can have a race down from the top of the Pyranees or Picos, I'll bring my Seven push bike and murder the bloody lot of you :D

The jury is still out on that one. He keeps trying to persuade me to go on the back of it. I keep finding ever more colourful ways to tell him 'No' :D

Edited to add: It would look silly anyway. I'm quite a few inches taller than him and the rear seat is already about 6 inches higher than the front seat.

The bike does seem to be his only excess so if it keeps him happy then I'm happy.

I won't be getting a racing machine myself. Something in the 250-400cc range and entirely sensible will be my choice.

dont be silly now, it would be on the road

Funny thing is I rode up and over Mingus Mountain in Arizona a few years ago with tent panniers. On the side of the mountain is the ghost town of Jerome, the site of a Harley chapter get together that Sunday.

As they all passed me on the way up, blondes on the back, they all gave me a friendly whoop of encourgement.

They were less accomodating as I passed them one by one on the twisty descent

:D

I reckon my legs provide more usable horsepower than any Harley in those conditions :D
