    Nice sled Chris !

Ive used pace forks for years, really rate them.

youve beaten me hands down on groupset - I had to economise to XT, used to have synchros stem but I broke it :O, disagree about the time pedals, I wouldnt change my DH shimanos for anything.. as for the frame? well, Id stick with the Ti merlin, but I guess its horses for courses...

another one for this busy adjudicator I think !!

NB what IS sad though, is that I havent ridden it in 18 months, I wont be going to MTB heaven.. :)

The woofers on the speakers I'm mostly using today are more than 24 inches wide.

Usually takes me about an hour and a half (a bit longer without a calculator). I've done that calc a few time before though.

Got to say, my machine hasn't had much use for the last 18 months apart from moving it from the garage to the bath......

Hmmm... Shimano pedals..if you like bad knees maybe..time have it in the comfort stakes, plenty of float.

Were you never tempted with FS?

I've just counted, and I have 28 spare cartridge bolts. None of which were the right length for my current cartridge.

I have 144 John Coltrane disks, on LP or CD.

It's a bit like comparing a Bentley with a Rolls - nothing between them really, it's down to personal choice. They even look similar although they are different sizes, the Taylor being a dreadnought.

    Here's the Taylor:

There is nothing exceptional about my hifi kit. Total cost new, including TT, probably just scrapes over £1000. Power ratings are decidedly average. The knobs are unexceptional, either way. The wires are all of a medium thickness. All drivers are average sized. The rack is neither short nor tall. The speakers stands are possibly a little on the low side, but nothing to be too concerned about. Their drivers are pretty standard. My living room is rectangular in shape, the acoustics acceptable. I have around 200 vinyl LPs, probably twice as many CDs. Fair to middling, really. My bike is ordinary, we have an ageing piano and some bongo drums, and no car. The dimensions of my penis, length and girth, are utterly normal.

None of this makes me feel inadequate. Nor do I feel any need to brag. I have no inclination to big it up, as modern parlance might have it. I am perfectly content.

All of which makes me the most rounded person here. :p

Well MniR, rounded you may be but at a total cost of around £1,000 (over how many years of interest in hi-fi?) I'm not entirely sure that you're suffering enough for your art.

Excellent post though. "LOL" as one hears the young trendies say these days.

Im lovin this thread, its got everything!!! guitars, bikes, hifi... all we need now is beer and naked women and its perfect :D:D:D

Chris - tried FS - liked it downhill - I went so fast I nearly crapped myself... apart from that didnt like it - too heavy for my weakling mr bean-type legs.

The guitars - I think the Taylors got it in the looks department anyway... you just cant beat 'Martin' for kudos though..

Bikes? toughie. Seems everyones got a better groupset than me !! no fair!! hope hubs too - used to have them on my hei hei - nice!..they even click loudly so everyone can hear them :D... Id still pick my frame as a personal favorite, but wish I could select from everybody elses bits and pieces !... but maybe I should try 'riding it' instead !!.. novel, but true..

time for me to retire from the competition, holding no more than a sick and ill goldfish trophy..
