Ah, a full house methinks. Please bear in mind what Robbo said. I.e. the emphasis is on listening to music rather than just kit swapping, although there will be some of that too.

    hi,

It seems that we need to sort out what equipment is going to be on show. It seems like there will be at least nine of us so we do need to think about this.

Dev has 3 amps at his place but I understand Michael may bring down his amp. That should be enough power amp muscle to choose from.

If Big Tone brings the X-01, we can listen to that.

As for other items, I think it should be up to Dev to what can be taken along.

I won't bother bringing the DEQ then, obviously no one is that interested in hearing it

SM, I have not heard many quite that expensive in my own system I must admit but I have heard many even more expensive in many other systems which I feel gives me a reasonable idea of what to expect from such an item. It beats the DACs I have had in my system recently but a very large margin; AudioAero, DAC64, even the TacT which I said sounded so good with my set-up.

    Is it mating season?

I'm easy guys. Bring along what you want and we'll be democratic about what we listen to. My own preference will include Michael's amp and Dean's TT/Phono, particularly if anyone brings along any vinyl. My TT is rather crappy. If it comes down to it we can always play in 2 separate rooms as long as someone brings along a pair of big speaker stands and cables. So serious music listening can take place in the main one and kit swapping in another.

    I'll just bring the souped-up CD5i.

I want to hear Simon's DEQ though, and as I have the standard unmodified unit perhaps we could arrange another session very soon which I'd be happy to host. Mind you, nine people in my room means doubling up so you'd have to sit on each others laps :)

Four people is do-able so if people are up for it we can sort things on Saturday. I'll also have a nice CD transport by then.

    Rob.

PS: Will there be a TT ?

These things only work if there's minimal amounts of kit being swapped, otherwise we all just end up A/B testing the same bits of music repeatedly listening for insignificant differences between this and that. Boring as hell.

I reckon one or two amps and one or two CD players/DACs are enough.

I think we'll only be listening to Mike's amp (after a quick listen to Lilolee/Dev Mk1 obviously:)). Regarding sources, a TT and a couple of CDPs/DACs should be it really.

As I mentioned before, if anyone wants to compare kit they can do so in the next room. I have a pair of Tannoy nearfield monitors we can use. Just bring speaker stands and cable (my current cheapy runs under the floor).

I think that's an excellent idea - hifi nerds in one room (preferably with the door locked), and all the rest in another.

Looking forward to having a butchers at Mike's weirdo valve amp though.

I would probably go right to Dev’s as it seems easy to find. But actually I'm not sure I will be going at all. My chronic fatigue has kicked in quite a badly the last few days and I'm not sure it would be wise to wear myself out making the journey. I'll see how I am tomorrow.

    Around noon.

Just one more thing that someone has brought to my attention:D. I don't drink, nothing religeous but just hate the taste, so don't bring any drinks for me but by all means feel free to bring along what you want to share/drink amongst yourselves. I or rather my boss will take take of the food.

Simon, get off the forum and get some rest. You'll be fine for Saturday:).

Its not the forum that does it. I think it was doing lots of travelling this week.

Is it okay to just turn up if I feel like it?
