    Yes Simon, no problem.

I've been travelling a lot this week as well. I was in Holland for 3 days on Business (only had limited time to post here) and have to go back on a very early flight on Sunday. I only came back for the bake off.

Yup, that's not a problem. Plenty of on-street parking nearby but I'll leave the drive free for unloading.

Okay I don't think I will be going. It seems more important to save my energy for the show next week and getting some stuff ready for it.

Many thanks to Dev for hosting a great afternoon and for keeping us all well fed.

I enjoyed meeting everyone and am looking forward to the next event - lets make these things more regular :)

    Rob.

PS: Guys, do we tell them about the Django? ;)

I'm not sure they could take it :)

Good to see everyone again, a shame that Tenson, BBV and WM couldn't make it.

A minimal amount of kit swapping, quite a lot of music. I played stuff by Cardiacs, Charles Mingus, The Fiery Furnaces, The Heptones, Nels Cline/Gregg Bendian, Sufjan Stevens, and others I've forgotten. Only at one point (the Cline/Bendian) did anyone run away. Pussies.

Dev's setup is sounding really good with his Rogue power amp, all he needs now is a pair of Westminsters (which will easily fit into his room) or maybe, at a pinch, a pair of Canterburys...

Thanks for the Beck CD Neil, it plays fine on my machine, I'm listening to it at the moment, I like it.

    Why should we tell you?

A big thanks to Dev for his great hospitality. A very enjoyable day with excellent music and company. The music took priority over the kit too, which is the way it should be. We should do it again soon.

I enjoyed Devs system a lot, although as Ian says, it is a shame with such a big room at his disposal that there are no Westminsters in the corners.

Thanks for coming over guys. A very enjoyable afternoon indeed with very little kit swapping, just a variety of music.

I don't have one; I sold it to Nick ;)

I am building a new copper S&B though. Apparently the copper is thought better in a lot of peoples view and I can't afford the number I need in silver anyway!

    Django.......

    Ok I'll go first.

It replaced Dev's Glasshouse passive pre and sat between the Arcam 9/Naim 5i and either the Rogue or Leak 20 power amps.

I think I speak for us all when I say we found the Django the most interesting bit of kit because it really did make a huge difference to Dev's system.

At one point we played some Art Blakey - really fast, hard hitting, dynamic drumming and so damned tight that you can set your watch by it - well usually. With the Django in circuit Blakey was transported into a huge acoustic but unfortunately seemed to lose an arm in the process, franticly bashing away at the drums with his one remaining arm trying to keep the pace going and failing miserably. All sense of PRaT was lost and the six of us sat there agasp at the cacophony. Frankly, it was a relief to go back to the Glasshouse.

    Rob.

Judging from todays performance, he'd better go for the mithril wired version.
